Bess powers United Force to BFL title

A hat trick from Danroy Bess helped power United Force to the League title of the Hairoun Beer Football League (BFL), which concluded last Sunday afternoon at the Clive Tannis Playing Field.{{more}}

Bess’ three goals, along with one each from Glenroy Adams and Gamal Bess saw United Force win 5-1 over GTM Zodiac. Jamal Ollivierre netted the lone goal for Zodiac.

Bess was also awarded his team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award and the Most Goals award after scoring nineteen goals.

Ollivierre, like Bess, was awarded the Most Valuable Player and was also awarded for being the player who scored the most goals in a single game, which was seven.

Kenuth Glynn was adjudged the best goalkeeper.

Each of the competing teams had a player being awarded its MVP. Rocford John was the awardee for Hamilton FC, Marlon James for Masters, Dougal Fredericks-, did so for Higher Heights and Junell Glynn for Gabba Boyz.

The Knock Out title in the Senior Division was taken by Gabba Boyz for the fourth consecutive year.

Preceding last Sunday’s senior final, Touch Masters whipped Young Force four goals to nil to take the Under-17 competition.

Shaquille Ollivierre hit a brace, while Akil Peters and Jason Hutchins netted a goal apiece.

The Under-17 MVP’s were Damien Bynoe for Young Zodiacs; Javia Compton for Young Force, Mark Browne gained the award for Touch Masters, with Tristan Simmons doing so Strikers and Solisa Hazell, the MVP for Girls United. (RT)
