TBPO Softball Cricket Competition reaches Quarter Finals

CGM Novice, Owia Shottaz, RSVG Police, Young Strikers and Shot Callers all recorded wins last weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation competition and are now into the Quarter Finals.{{more}}

Novice beat Vincom Nex Level by five wickets.

Nex Level scored 97 for 5. Deptor Culzac topscored with 37, and Kevin Jessop made 34. Everton Durrant took 2 for 24.

In reply, Novice reached 100 for 5 in 12.3 overs. Trevor Bailey was 39 not out. Kenroy Martin, 15. Courtney Joyette snapped up 3 for 9 and Enoch James, 2 for 29.

Owia Shottaz beat Nar Fren Dem by 26 runs.

Owia batted first and made 89 for 9. Rohan Lavia, 28, and Elroy Nanton, 25. David Baptiste took 4 for 8 and Kevin Harry, 2 for 10.

Nar Fren Dem got to 63 for 9. Jamal John, 15, as Lesborn Lavia, 3 for 4, Rohan Lavia, 3 for 16, and Marlon Baptiste, 2 for 24, bowled their team to a win and a place in the quarter finals.

Police posted 176 for 5. Gerald Gould made 39 not out and Rolando Wright, 25 not out. Kesron Ashton took 2 for 29. Under Dogs replied with 38. Demeris Daniel, 3 for 15, and Maxian Richardson, 3 for 22.

Young Strikers exited Ruddy’s Electrical by 56 runs.

Young Strikers totalled 160. Ronald Hoyte hit 37 not out, Davidson Lavia, 28, and Zanrick Henry and Jamil Lewis, 22 each, as Winston Patterson snared 4 for 33, and Omaro Gaymes, 3 for 8.

Ruddy’s Electrical responded with 104 all out. Augustine Bentick topped their batting with 57. Zanrick Henry bagged 4 for 23 and Davidson, Lavia 2 for 17.

And, Shot Callers whipped Touch of Pearl Lac Croix by five wickets.

La Croix could only make 73. Edmando Shoy was ahead with 18. Osmond Forbes, 3 for 10, and Kemrom Williams, 2 for 15, bowling for Shot Callers, which scored 76 for 5. Joel Patterson made 17 not out. Ron Adams, 2 for 17, and Ronaldo Coombs, 2 for 19, in a losing effort for La Croix.

This Saturday from 1 pm at the Dauphine Playing Field, Glen United faces Clinchers for a place in the quarter finals, to be followed by quarter final action between Simple Boys and Shot Callers.

On Sunday from 10 am, Young Strikers face Dr. Thomas for a quarter final spot, and at 12; 30 pm, defending champions CGM Novice heads closer to retention, as they take on Owia. (RT).
