Police play Stubbs in Masters Cricket Final

In a repeat of the 2006 Finals of the SVG Masters Cricket Competition, Police and Stubbs will go for the top prize, when the date and venue have been decided by the organizers.{{more}}

With Police already through, after the previous weekend’s exercise, Stubbs completed two wins last weekend to book their passage.

In the quarter final on Saturday, Stubbs defeated Rudy’s Electrical Barrouallie by 41 runs.

Stubbs batted first and totalled 162 for 1 off their 20 overs. Dawnley Joseph was in top form as he made 74 and Christopher Campbell struck 65 not out.

Rudy’s Electrical Barrouallie made 121 all out off 19.3 overs. Leading Barrouallie’s reply was Ian Allen with 65 and Lance John, who contributed 28.

Bowling for Stubbs, Godfrey Brewster took 4 for 19, Carlos Andrews 3 for 20 and Junior Browne, 2 for 19.

In the semi final on Sunday, Stubbs was as commanding as they defeated Computec Belfongo by 8 wickets.

Belfongo was able to post 111 all out off 18.3 overs. Peter Campbell topscored with 25 and Elton Williams contributed 22. Brewster captured 4 for 17 and Dawnley Joseph, 2 for 13.

Stubbs took 16.5 overs to erase the target and got to 113 for 2. Dawnley Joseph was again their fulcrum as he made 45 not out. Christopher Campbell scored 30 and Alvin Thomas hit 26. (RT)
