NLA TBPO 10/10 semi-finalists decided

The National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation 10/10 Softball Cricket Competition has reached its semi-finals stage.{{more}}

The mid-week action will see Clinchers meeting CGM Novice today, and tomorrow, Wednesday, Ken’s Plumbing and Associates Simple Boys will take on Gomea Bombers.

Matches are slated for the Dauphine Playing Field, from 4: 30 p.m.

Last week, Gomea Bombers, Simple Boys and CGM Novice, all earned the right to this phase of the competition, with convincing wins over their opponents.

Gomea Bombers amassed 153 for 3 from their 10 overs. Rohan Dowers led the way with 65 and Carlos Williams hit 22 not out.

Computec Vintage responded with 74 for 4 from their 10 overs, to lose by a whopping 78 runs.

Rohan King’s 38 not out and Aaron Baptiste’s 16, were the bright sparks for Vintage’s batting, as Charles Baptiste took 2 for 6, bowling for Gomea Bombers.

Simple Boys carved out a seven-wicket win at the expense of Nar Fren Dem. Batting first, Nar Fren Dem reached 51 for 6, from 8 overs, reduced because of a late start. Kenford Collins was the topscorer with 19, as Vernardo Primus picked up 2 for11, and Eldon Morris 2 for 12.

Elric Morris scored 22, as Simple Boys replied with 53 for 3. Kevin Harry took 2 for 16, in a losing cause for Nar Fren Dem.

CGM Novice beat Glen United by nine wickets.

Glen was dismissed for 47. Henderson Morgan hit 16 and 14 came from Michael Duncan. Trevor Bute had 2 for 5 and Kenroy Martin 2 for 14.

Martin scored 16 not out, and Felix Greaves scored 13 not out to help Novice rush to 52 for 1, and book a place in the semi-finals. Roderick John, also hit out 13, to help his team defeat Glen.

Novice won the last 10/10 competition held in 2008. (RT)
