Simple Boys reach softball cricket quarter finals

Ken’s Plumbing and Associates Simple Boys is the first team to reach the last eight of the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Softball Cricket T/20 Competition.{{more}}

Last weekend, Simple Boys downed Street Vibes by 70 runs. Simple Boys posted 146 from their 20 overs, led by 26 from Oswald Soleyn, Vernardo Primus, 25 and Nicos Davis hit 21. Renrick Sayers took 3 for 22.

Street Vibes replied with 76 all out, with Renrick Sayers, the topscorer with 16.

Desron Maloney, 3 for 18, Eldon Morris, 2 for 2, and Travis Cumberbatch, 2 for 24.

In other matches played on the weekend, Owia Stars beat Glen United by 35 runs.

Owia chalked up 105 for 7. Marlon Baptiste scored 44, and Rohan Lavia, 27.

Marcus Hackshaw took 3 for 19, and Wayne Garraway, 3 for 21, bowling for Glen United, which replied with 62 for 6 from their 18 overs.

Henderson Morgan made 32. Marlon Baptiste , 3 for 8, and Stanley Lavia, 2 for 6.

In what was considered a major upset, Nex Level beat RSVG Police by eight wickets.

RSVG Police was bowled out for 43 in 10.1 overs. Renrick Cato struck 26. Enoch James snapped up 4 for 21, and Justin Lee, 2 for 21.

Nex Level replied with 46 for 2. Kevin Jessop led the reply with 21.

Also, Clinchers defeated Young Strikers by 23 runs.

Clinchers batted first and scored 145 for 7. Okeefe Andrews hit 49, Curlan John, 32, and Donwell Hector, 18.Eversley Mc Coy took 2 for 42.

Young Strikers responded with 122 all out. Zurrick Henry made 19, and Zimron Baptiste, 17.

Dill Clarke took 3 for 33, and Kevin Henry, Donwell Hector and Okeefe Andrews, all took two wickets apiece.

The other scheduled match saw Owia Stars winning by default from Just For the Fun. (RT)
