New Masters Cricket champion to be crowned

Last Sunday, defending champion Log Enterprises Kingstown went under to former winners Police by 67 runs.

Police Masters defeated Log Enterprises Kingstown Masters by 67 runs.

Police batted first and scored 136 for 7 off their 20 overs. Former national players Oneil Thomas, 55, and Gosnel Cupid, 46, led the lawmen’s batting.

Joseph Medford bagged 4 for 26, and Hollis John, 2 for 18, bowling for Kingstown.

At their turn at the crease, Kingstown was dismissed for 69. Bradley Brooker topscored with 22, as Parnell Browne, 3 for 22, and Sigmon Allen, 2 for 11, shared the bowling spoils for Police.

En route to the semi finals, Police took out C.K.Greaves Vintage Arnos Vale by six wickets.

Arnos Vale made 106 for 8 off 20 overs, with McNeil Morgan making 38 and Stephen Gibson, 15.

Oneil Thomas had bowling figures of 3 for 14, and Sigmon Allen, 2 for 18.

Police responded with 107 for 4 off 10.1 overs. Gosnel Cupid led the attack with 55 and Jeffrey Laborde contributed 25. Monty Warner took 2 for 17.

The other scheduled match saw Computec Belfongo gaining easy passage to the semi final, as North Leeward did not show up for their fixture. (RT)
