Novice marching on

CGM Novice, the defending champion of the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Softball Cricket Competition, continues to maintain their winning ways at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}

Last Sunday, Novice took out Dr. Thomas by 75 runs. Novice made 151 for 7 from their 20 overs. Roderick John hit 42, Sydney Campbell 26 and Dean Farrell 24. Bowling for Injectors, Tex Franklyn took 3 for 15, who in reply was dismissed for 76. Steven Starker topscored with 17. Desmond Bramble 3 for 18 and Roderick John 2 for 35, were the most successful bowlers for Novice.

Also recording a win was Clinchers who stopped Computec Vintage by 108 runs.

Donwell Hector struck 49, Desron Dallaway 37, Okeefe Andrews 31 and Dill Clarke 26 as Clinchers piled up 159 for 6 from their 15 overs. Michael John took 2 for 33 and Junior Bacchus 3 for 37.

Vinatge could only get to 51 for 9 from their 15 overs. Rohan King was the main contributor with 15, as Hector bagged 4 for 5.

Also Glen United beat Just For the Fun by 28 runs.

Henderson Morgan scored 53 and Mc Neil Morgan 33, in Glen’s total of 130 for 4 from their 15 overs. Cosnel Morris took 2 for 13, bowling for Just For the Fun, whose innings was curtailed at 102 for 6 in their allotment of 15 overs.

John Carter made 35, Cameron Harry 19 and Cosnel Morris 15. Bowling for Glen Ricky King snared 3 for 25.

Nar Fren Dem scooped Mc’s Little Saints by seven runs. Nar Fren Dem made 76. Jason Jackson 3 for 10 and Junior Mc Dowald 3 for 9, bowling for the Saints.

Amos Clarke led Mc’s Little Saints’ reply with 31, but that was not enough, as his team folded for 69. Clayton James 4 for 25, Akeeno Matthews 2 for 8 and Delroy Garry 2 for 14, combined to eek out the win for Nar Fren Dem.

The weekend’s other scheduled match saw Ruddy’s Electrical winning by default from Owia. (RT)
