It was a fitting way to conclude the competition, as Troumaca squeezed home by a mere two runs, in an exciting affair.

Batting first, Troumaca posted 192 for 9 off their 20 overs.

Former St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards batsman Denis Byam struck 54, Ranjel Small made 52, and Keshaun Lewis, 17.

Nelson Williams was the pick of the Somerset bowling with 5 for 33, and Ralmore Pierre picked up 2 for 20.

Somerset made a spirited reply, led by the veteran Orville Franklyn who made 41, Allington Williams, 36 not out, Kevin Small, 35, Dale Michael, 25, Ralmore Pierre, 20, and Nelson Williams, 19, but that could only put them to 190 for 5 from their allotment of 20 overs.

The youthful Troumaca team bowlers did the trick, as Dorson Cottle, 3 for 60, and Kenneth Dember, 1 for 20, off his four overs was enough to eke out the slender two run win and immediate bragging rights.

The Presentation Ceremony of the Cricket competition will take place on Sunday, October 3, at the Petit Bordel Playing Field, and will coincide with the opening of the North Leeward Football League.(RT)
