And, once again, St. George was the losing team.

The held over 2009 competition, which ended last January, saw Central Windward then triumphing by 107 runs, but last Saturday at the Stubbs Playing Field, the win was even more convincing, as the margin of victory was nine wickets.

Central Windward asked their opponents to take first strike. St. George could not cope with the Central Windward bowlers, especially Anthony Harper, who bagged 6 for 34, and was dismissed for 94 off 29.1 overs.

Kentish Phillips topscored with 33, and Atticus Browne made 23.

Central Windward’s batsmen then went about the task of holding on to the title in brisk fashion.

Right handed Rodney Lawrence smashed 35 not out and the burly left handed Daren Greaves, 29 not out, as Central Windward scorched to 100 for 1 in just 17 overs.

En route to last Saturday’s final, Central Windward beat North Leeward in the semi final, while St. George got past North Windward.

Central Windward also won the Zonal Under-15 title last July. (RT)
