Police on the beat in TBPO Softball Cricket

RSVG police recorded two wins last weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Softball Cricket Competition at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}

On Saturday, they stopped Street Fighters and on Sunday defused Gomea Bombers.

Against Street Fighters, Police posted 98 for 8 off their 20 overs, with Rolando Wright making 19 and Gosnel Cupid 17. Westrick Straugh 3 for 16, Leroy Dalzine 2 for 17 and Wayne Harper 2 for 26.

Street Fighters’ reply stopped at 84 for 8 off their 20 overs. Straugh hit 27 not out and Harper 18, as Demeris Daniel and Maxian Richardson 2 for 11, shared the bowling honours for the lawmen.

In their second win on the weekend, Police again batted first and chalked up 115 off their 20 overs. Maxian Richardson led the way with 27 and Saleem George struck 26.

Kentish Philips bagged 4 for 20, Sylvannus Morgan 2 for 13 and Osbourne Franklyn 2 for 10.

Gomea Bombers was bowled out for 80. Rohan Dowers was the topscorer with 22, as Malcolm Alexander picked up 4 for 14 and Demeris Daniel 2 for 11.

Also recording a win was LCK Shot Callers over ASCO.

Shot Callers’ main scorers were Joel Patterson 27 not out and Rudolph Davis 24, as they reached 125 for 8 from their 20 overs.

Raffique Sayers, Kesroy Williams and Shane Trimmingham, all took two wickets apiece.

ASCO could only get to 59. Akeem Cumberbatch and Raffique Sayers, both made 20. Everad Glasgow snared 6 for 48, to bowl Shot Callers to a 66 run victory.

Mac’s Little Saints joined the winners, as they squeezed Street Vibes by 47 runs. Jahziel Walters made 29 and Quammie Bynoe 23, as Little Saints totalled 110, in 18.5 overs.

Renrick Sayers 4 for 21 and Daryl Cambridge 3 for 22, were the main wicket takers for Street Vibes, who at their turn, was dismissed for 63. Clifford Williams 18, and Kenroy Warner 17 made some efforts with the bat. Kimron Walters took 2 for 18, bowling for Mac’s Little Saints.

And, Under Dogs won from Dr. Thomas Injectors on a technicality.

Injectors scored 106, with Leslie Alexander, the topscorer with 20. Kezron Ashton took 3 for 15, however, it was later discovered that Injectors fielded a player that was not declared.

Another five matches are carded for this weekend. (RT)
