One win, one loss for London Masters

London Masters won one match and lost the other as the National Masters 20/20 Cricket Competition continued last weekend.{{more}}

London defeated SVG Cooperative Bank P’ tani Masters by six wickets, but lost to C.K. Greaves Vintage Arnos Vale by two runs.

P’tani put on 156 for 4 off their 20 overs. Jerome Samuel struck 49, Ray Laborde, 27, and Adolphus Campbell, 25.

Lauren Baptiste smashed 83 and Carl Toppin, 34, as London replied with 157 for 5, in 18.3 overs. Walford Ambris picked up three wickets.

In their second match, Arnos Vale batted first and scored 155 for 5 off 20 overs. Mc Neil Morgan belted 73 and Ted Roberts, 33. Selwyn Lavia and Lauren Baptiste took two wickets each.

Lauren Baptiste enjoyed a good weekend as he followed up with 78 and Osborne Jordon, 31, but that was not enough, as London was restricted to 153 for 6 from their 20 overs.

Monty Warner picked up 3 for 27, and McNeil Morgan, 2 for 18.

Computec Belfongo Masters defeated Sion Hill Masters by 46 runs.

Peter Campbell, 47, Curtis King, 41 not out, and Junior Bacchus, 32, as Belfongo got to 172 for 6, off their 20 overs.

Augustine Victory and Andrew Bramble took two wickets each. Sion Hill made 126 for 8 off their 20. Joe Horne was the topscorer with 24, and Sylvanus Vanloo made 20.

Junior Bacchus and Freddie Campbell picked up two wickets each.

The other two matches saw Ruddy’s Electrical Barrouallie Masters and Buccament Valley Masters settling for an abandonment due to a water logged pitch, and Dasent Cottage Masters won by default from North Leeward Masters. (RT)
