United Survivors retain Women’s Cricket League crown

United Survivors is once again the champion of the league format of the National Women’s Cricket Competition.{{more}}

With only three teams participating and two rounds of competition, United Survivors finished with three wins and a loss.

Last weekend, two matches were played. On Saturday, Tigress beat North Leeward by four wickets.

North Leeward scored 73 in 23.4 overs. Rochelle John picked up 4 for 8, and Jasmine Browne 3 for 18.

In response, Tigress reached 74 for 6. Nichole Samuel was 31 not out. Earlene De Grads was 2 for 13 and Clea Hoyte 2 for14.

On Sunday, United Survivors rebounded from their first loss to Tigress, with a commanding four-wicket triumph.

United Survivors compiled 189 for 6, from their allotted 40 overs.

Samantha Lynch topped their batting with 47. Camille Garrick hit 25; Cordell Jack 22, Shevern Clarke 21 and Gianny Marshall 20 not out.

Bowling for Tigress, Sheree Ann John took 2 for 26.

Tigress was dismissed for 66. Cordell Jack snared 3 for 10, and Shevern Clarke 3 for 14, as United Survivors sealed the title.(RT)
