He takes over from Earl ‘Caba’ Bennett who held the position from the previous football administration and served as general secretary (ag) since 2007.

Joseph Delves, President of the SVGFF, in a press conference held on Wednesday June 2, welcomed Hypolite’s appointment.

“I think he is well equipped to take on this huge task being the Chief Operating Officer,” Delves told members of the media.

Hypolite migrated to Canada decades ago and possesses a wide range of skills. His experience includes a stint in coaching; he is a certified referee instructor and is currently the director of the Richmond Hill Soccer Academy.

He said that he is already looking forward to ensuring that this country’s football is returned to the top of Caribbean football as it once was in the late 1970s.

“We need to build a new foundation. We need to re-excavate and rebuild a foundation,” Hypolite said as he pointed to the need to go back to the days of strong community involvement in the sport. (DD)
