Andrews rides to consecutive wins

Orano Andrews last weekend rode to two successful cycling events put on by the SVG Cycling Union.

Andrews, who is based in Tortola, the British Virgin Islands, won the individual Time Trial on Saturday in Georgetown, a distance of 13.5 miles. Andrews’ time was 35 minutes 46.70 seconds.{{more}}

He was followed by Peter Durrant in 36 minutes 58.04 seconds, and third was Marlon Antrobus in 38 minutes 59.20 seconds.

The second race started outside the Court House in Kingstown to Torouma at the north of the island and back to Sion Hill – a total distance of 53.3 miles.

This race was again won by Andrews, who clocked 2 hours 44 minutes 37 seconds. Second Marlon Antrobus in 2 hours 44 minutes 40 seconds, and third was Shimano Bailey , who clocked 2 hours 50 minutes 18 seconds.

The races were to prepare and select a team for the OECS Cycling Championship schedule for Grenada this weekend.(RT)
