NLA Barrouallie 20/20 reaches Quarter finals

The stage has been set for this weekend’s quarter finals of the National Lotteries Authority Barrouallie 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition.{{more}}

The match ups see Keartons United versus Come Again, RSVG Police against Glen United, Somerset meeting Circumstances, and Surprises opposing Hill View.

Last weekend saw the final of the preliminary games.

Defending champion Keartons United demolished Rudy’s Electrical by 32 runs. Keartons tallied 108 for 9 from their 20 overs. Rudolph Daize took 2 for 22 and Andre Hoyte, 2 for 12.

In their reply, Ruddy’s Electrical made 80 all out. Kenny Stapleton with 18 was the only batsman who put up any resistance. Julian Lampkin, Carl Hamblett and David Toppin had two wickets each bowling for Keartons.

In back to back wins, Keartons United warded off RSVG Police in a battle for first place in Zone A.

Batting first, Keartons scored 116 for 5 in 20 overs – Kerwin Corke hit 18 with Julian Lampkin 17 not out. They were assisted with 23 extras. Kenroy Martin took 2 for 27.

RSVG Police after cruising at 74 for 4 was dismissed for 96, to lose by 20 runs. Salvan Browne hit 23. Kerwin Corke, David Toppin and Jullany Jack all had two wickets each bowling for Keartons.

In the final game on Sunday, Glen United pushed aside a spirited effort from Come Again to win by 20 runs. Batting first, Glen hit an imposing 153 for 6 in their 20 overs, thanks to 60 from Marcus Hacksaw.

In reply Come Again only reached 133 for 8 in their 20 overs. Gregory Francis hit 37, with Stevenson Browne contributing 22. Kerwin Browne, Marcus Hacksaw and Ricky King, accounted for two wickets each bowling for Glen United.(RT)
