Well done!

For the third consecutive year, Searchlight’s Rohan Thomas has walked away with the Sports Journalist of the Year award.{{more}}

Thomas was awarded during the National Sports Awards held last Saturday at the Arnos Vale Sports complex.

Thomas has been a Sports Journalist for 12 years, and is also a teacher at the CW Prescod Primary School.

Thomas’ award was based on the article “Peters sprints his way to a PhD”, published in the September 4, 2009, issue of Searchlight.

In 2004 and 2005, Thomas also won the award for Best Sports story.

Thomas is also actively involved in various sporting administrations. He is the Chief Organizer of the Pepsi Sion Hill Football League, a position he has held for twelve consecutive years. He also served as Manager and Coach of the Sion HIll under 17 Football team and was the main organizer of two successful Sion Hill Inter Village Football Competitions in 2008 and 2009.

For this work, he was awarded for community service to sports.
