Radcliffe triumphs over News Spartans

A match haul of 8 for 67 engineered OLA Boutique Radcliffe to an innings and 30 run win over the News Spartans in one of two RBTT Premier Division matches of the national competition.{{more}}

Spartans, which jointly shared the 2009 title with Radcliffe, fielded only eight players and reached 90, batting first. Drumo Toney took 3 for 19, and Cato, 2 for 13. In reply, Radcliffe declared at 241 for 9. Lynden James, 74, Westrick Straugh, 30. Basil Matthews, 3 for 61, and Nixon Mc Lean, 2 for 58, bowling for Spartans.

Batting a second time, Spartans, with their full complement of players, fared worse, making 84. Uzzah Pope hit 43, as Cato grabbed 6 for 36. Wayne Harper took 2 for 9.

Also in the Premier Division, as the four top teams were in action, Victors One gained first innings from MVC Rivals. Victors One made 144, with Atticus Browne scoring 55. Olanzo Jackson had 5 for 27. Rivals in response was dismissed for 83. Alston Bobb took 4 for 23, Keiron Cottoy, 3 for 15, and Norlan Williams, 2 for 30.

Batting a second time, Victors One declared at 176 for 6. Donson Andrews, 58, Denis Byam ,42. Roland Wilkinson took 4 for 33.

Set 237 to win, Rivals was 101 for 6 at the close. Harley Skerritt scored 41, as Cottoy picked up 2 for 28, and Donwell Hector, 2 for 30.
