Denson Fraser gets basketball scholarship

Denson Fraser is ready to be the next Vincentian Basketball star.{{more}}

The 6 ft 8 inch Ottley Hall resident is the recipient of a basketball scholarship from the New Jersey College in the United States of America.

The recent graduate of the Campden Park Secondary School says that he does not belong to any team but enjoys playing the sport.

He explained that he was approached by a North American scout Jim John while playing on the court one day.

“He saw that I had potential and starting recording me.” Fraser said that John sent the tapes to schools in the United States, and as a result, New Jersey College offered him a scholarship.

“I feel very excited,” Fraser said. “I just want to go out there and big up St. Vincent.”

The twenty-year-old will travel to New Jersey between August 5 and 12, 2010.(OS)
