Kingstown and Belfongo in Masters Cricket Final

Log Enterprises Kingstown and Computec Belfongo will contest the Final of the National Masters 20/20 Cricket Competition.{{more}}

The two played unbeaten in the phases leading up to this Sunday’s Final, which will give the winner the right to be called undisputed champion.

The two confirmed their berth with wins in last Sunday’s semi finals.

Log Enterprises Kingstown Masters defeated St.Vincent Cooperative Bank P’tani Masters by seven wickets and Belfongo scored a six wicket win over London Masters.

P’tani Masters batted first and was bowled out for 62. Winston Campbell made 16. Cornelius Springer, Bradley Brooker and Colin Shoy took two wickets each.

The potent Kingstown Masters replied with 65 for 3. Winston Springer led the way with 19 not out and Joseph Carrington 17 not out.

Belfongo, on the other hand, saw off London Masters.

London batted first and reached 112 for 7 off their 20 overs, with former St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards Under-19 medium pacer and Captain, Lauren Baptiste topscoring with 28. Sylvannus Morgan, a former St. Vincent and the Grenadines spinner, took 3 for 11, and Aaron Bascombe, 3 for 17, were the top wicket takers for Belfongo, who reached 116 for 4 in response.

National selector Urias “Tommy” King struck 48 not out and Bascombe, 25.

Earlier, London had to square off with Ajuba Masters in the last quarter final, which set up their meeting with Belfongo.

Ajuba Masters posted 88 all out, with David Ellis topscoring with 21.Winston Hoyte grabbed 3 for 17 and Vernon DaSouza, 3 for 10.

London Masters responded with 92 for 4. Baptiste hit 21 not out and Carl Toppin, 18 not out.

Additionally, the finals of the SVG Masters Sixes Competition between Sion Hill Masters and Police Masters will precede the Finals between Kingstown and Belfongo.(RT)
