Displaying their uniforms were Gabba Boyz FC, Hamilton, Real Friendship, Higher Heights, United Force FC and Zodiac FC. Absent was Masters.

There was a short speech from St. Vincent Brewery Ltd representative Andre Primus, who gave his company’s sentiments of appreciation for being involved in partnering with the Bequia Football League.

He gave those present much hope as he renewed the company’s commitment for future sponsorship.

Also speaking at the ceremony was President of the Bequia Football Association Garfield Gurley, who implored Real Friendship, Hamilton, Higher Heights and Masters to form themselves into full fledged clubs, in keeping with the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation’s thrust towards strengthening the club structure.

He pointed out that involvement in Football at the administrative level is nearing its end, but saw his input as a God given responsibility to give service to society and humanity, helping to rescue youths from the ills of the world.

In the Soccer-Rama which followed, Gabba Boyz remained champions after they defeated Zodiac 26-24 points. It was Gabba Boyz’s third straight lien of the title, which is a feature of the opening of the annual Bequia Football League.

Hamilton FC was adjudged the Best dressed on show on the afternoon.

When the competition began in earnest on Monday, a brace from Danroy Best and one each from Marion Grant and Percival Miller gave United Force a 4-1 win over Higher Heights. Carol Greaves scored for Higher Heights. (RT)
