Andrews powers 20/20 century

Victors One’s opening batsman Donson Andrews scored his second century for the season when he blasted 103 not out against Belmont United last weekend, when the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams 20/20 Cricket Competition continued.{{more}}

Andrews’ innings powered the defending champions to 198 for 4 of their allotment. Atticus Browne contributed 55, and Kenny Stapleton 30. Belmont in response was shot out for 78. Imran Samuel was the topscorer with 36, as Andre Hunte took 3 for 5 and Alston Bobb 2 for 17.

Also in winner’s row was Bequia Combine who had two wins from their two matches.

Moses Douglas Radcliffe Two posted 102. Kamon Greene made 32. Garvin Ollivierre 3 for 22, Jimi Lavia 2 for 8, Dean Browne 2 for 11 and Jenry Ollivierre 2 for 15, bowling for Bequia.

Set a revised target of 64 in 12 overs, because of rain, Bequia Combine reached 64 without loss. Salvan Browne struck 42 not out.

Bequia also defeated Victors Two. Renaldo Coombs 47, Kevin Abraham 23 and Courtney Joyette 22, as Victors Two scored 131 for 9. Lavia took 3 for 17, Dean Browne 2 for 11.

Bequia recovering from 47 for 5 reached 133 without further loss. Cosmus Hackshaw 60 not out and Olando Billingy 24 not out saw them over the line. Keswerth Lewis had 3 for 21.

But Victors Two had on Saturday upset the News Spartans. Victors Two made 95. Rawdon Bentick hit 31. Krishna Da Silva 2 for 13, Kissinger Mc Lean 2 for 13 and Basil Andrews 2 for 22. Spartans fell for 86. Nixon Mc Lean topscored with 29. Lewis 3 for 10, Abraham 2 for 13 and Javid Harry 2 for 17.

Also causing an upset was Radcliffe Two, who stopped Police. Radcliffe Two posted 118, led by David Dublin’s 22, and Greene’s 20. Brenton Smith was the lawmen’s best bowler with 3 for 34, Gerald Gould 2 for 21 and Renford Jack 2 for 22.

Police halted at 109. Gould made 34, and Mc Leon Williams contributed 22. Dublin had 5 for 19 and Paul Harry 2 for 18.

The law officers also suffered at the hands of Spartans. Police was knocked over for 62. Williams made 26, as Basil Andrews took 2 for 11, Da Silva 2 for 15 and Teran Simon 2 for 16.

Spartans on the back of 34 not out from Dawnley Joseph responded with 63 for no loss.

But on a bad weekend for the joint RBTT Premier Division champions, Spartans reeled under MVC Rivals.

Batting first Rivals scored 132 for 7. Hyron Shallow compiled 67 not out. Da Silva 2 for 1, Simon 2 for 16 and Nixon Mc Lean 2 for 23.

Spartans’ innings got as far as 70 for 9, strangled by the bowling of Deighton Butler 2 for 8 and Mc Neil Morgan 2 for 11, to lose by 62 runs.

And, Eat Rite Saints totalled 108, with Felix Greaves making 33 and Sunil Ambris 24. Jerome Jack 3 for 11, Tarik Mc Neil 3 for 17.

Unique Warriors was restricted to 89 for 9. Kentish Jacobs 3 for 27, Kenroy Peters 2 for 7, Kishore Shallow 2 for 13 and Walford Ambris 2 for 14, as Saints romped to 17 run triumph. (RT)
