This was at a general meeting held at the board room of the National Sports Council at Arnos Vale, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, on August 21st, 2009.

The Strategic Plan has been under discussion by the individual member associations of the WICB over the last twelve months. It spells out certain achievable goals that the WICB will embark on over the next three years.

President of the WICBC Emmanuel Nanthan has said that his organization is committed to creating an environment to foster the development of cricket in the Windward Islands. Nanthan added that his organisation wants to make Windwards Cricket a dominant force in the West Indies, with a sound and sustainable financial, human and physical base.

The Code of Conduct sets out guidelines for the behaviour of players and officials participating in tournaments held under the auspices of the WICBC. It will take effect on January 1st, 2010, but will be applied during the upcoming Windward Islands Senior Tournament.

Dates and venues were fixed for the 2009 Senior and Under 15 Tournaments. Both events have been scheduled for St Lucia. The Senior tournament will take place from 9th to 22nd October, and will be followed by a camp for players selected to represent the Windward Islands in the Regional One Day Series; the Under 15 Tournament will be staged from 8th to 17th December

Friday’s General Meeting also examined a range of issues, including the development of a website, the hosting of an under 13 tournament for boys and girls, sponsorship, training for umpires and match referees, and the appointment of a Territorial Development Officer and a cricket development officer in each territory.

The WICBC will hold its Annual General Meeting in December 2009.
