Bequia Basketball Tournament climaxes this weekend

The Bequia Basketball Tournament is on the home stretch, and barring any unforeseen circumstances it will conclude this weekend.{{more}}

Last weekend in the Under 16 Division, Young Wizards recorded two wins over Hornets. In game one, they won 42 to 38, with Orando Blugh scoring 26 points, and 10 rebounds for Wizards and Jimmy France had 13 for Hornets.

In game two, they won 47 to 34, with Blugh scoring 20 and Garfield Sargeant, 11 for Hornets.

In the Second Division, Young Blazers defeated Rising Stars 2, 61 to 41.

The leading scorer for Young Blazers was Mark Hutchins with 19 points, with 13 rebounds. For Rising Stars 2, Orson Delpesche scored 13.

Also in that division, Young Duke beat Warriaz 50 to 36. For Young Duke, Damien Lewis scored 25 points, and had 17 rebounds and for Warriaz, Toryan Tannis, Devon Pollard, and Annette king had 8 points each.

In the First Division, Bequia Tech Rising Stars edged out East Blazers 59 to 54.

The leading scorer for Rising Stars was Craiglee Sam with 22. He also collected 14 rebounds.

For East Blazers, Michael Peniston and Cornelius Farrell had 11 points each.

On Monday night in the semi final of the First Division, Duke defeated Gladiatorz 88 to 60. For Duke, Otice Lewis scored 22 points, with Ewing Andrews scoring 19 for the losers.

Last Wednesday, the Second division finals game one, between Young Blazers and Young Duke, was slated. In the First division finals game one, Duke was scheduled to meet Bequia Tech Rising Stars in the best of three series.(RT)
