Racers ready to Drag in Grenada

A contingent of Vincentian racers is scheduled to compete in the annual international drag racing event to be held in Grenada this weekend.

The event, dubbed Digicel’s Battle of the Island Drag Wars 2, will showcase cars from several islands, including Puerto Rico, Antigua, Trinidad, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenada.{{more}}

The event, which runs from June 5th to 7th, 2009, promises to be an exciting one, as each country battles for top spots.

Seven drivers and their cars accompanied by their pit crews travelled to Grenada on the M.V. Gemstar on Wednesday, June 3rd: They are Ronald Reddock, Jason Moussa, Lenox Jack, Obed Williams, Marcus Wallace, Jeff John and Curtis Alfred. Each driver will be competing in various brackets in the event and are determined to take it to the limit to be victorious.

It will be a two-day back-to-back event with “test and tune” on Saturday and competition on Sunday.

This is the third time that St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be competing in Grenada.
