Hector delivers instantly in Brooklyn Cricket League

In his second match in the Brooklyn Cricket League, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards middle order batsman Donwell Hector returned his investment to newcomers Middlesex, as he slammed 119 last Sunday.{{more}}

Hector’s knock was the mainstay, as Middlesex batted first and compiled 320 for 8, off their 40 overs.

Another former SVG and Windwards player, Casper Davis, hit 54, Mark Audain 40, Lester Benn, 24 not out, and Dominic Audain added 23.

Former Antigua and Barbuda, Leewards and West Indies fast bowler, Dominican, Adam Sanford, took 3 for 44.

Wanderers, in reply, could only come up with 78. Rudy Jackman, 28, was the only significant score.

Dominic Audain, 3 for 26, Sherwin Bazil, 3 for 5, and Davis, 1 for 8.

Prior to Sunday’s big win, on Saturday, Middlesex took on St Lucia.

St Lucia chose to bat first, and scored 163 all out.

Dominic Audain took 4 for 36, including a hat trick, in which he clean bowled all three batsmen. Davis assisted with 4 for 33.

Hector, in his role as wicket keeper, held on to four catches.

Middlesex, in reply, made 164 for 7. Davis top scored with 53 not out, Jacob Emmanuel, 34, Charles Lee, 34, Hector 20.

The two back-to-back wins put Middlesex at three wins and one loss, beaten by Grenada. Middlesex is a breakaway from the long standing flag bearer Cavaliers.

The other Vincentian outfits in the league are Cavaliers, Imperial and United. (RT)
