Bequia 20/20 Cricket Competition in high gear

The Hairoun Beer Bequia 20/20 Cricket Competition is getting into high gear.

Last weekend, the competition had a full complement of three matches, and there were wins for Westside Knockers, NCB Paget Farm and De Graduates.{{more}}

Knockers defeated Manicou Sports Club by eight wickets.

Manicou batted first and scored 119. Cleve Walker topped their batting with 27 and Glendell Gregg snared 4 for 20. Knockers in response, scored 125 for 2. Gregg hit 37 and Timothy Warner 21, and Cosmos Hackshaw and Terrence Mc Cree, both hit 20. Carlos Mitchell had bowling figures of 2 for 24.

Also, NCB Paget Farm Pacers whipped French Mariann Terrace School Boys, by 54 runs.

The Pacers raced to 187. Nicholi Bynoe and Andreas Maloney, both scored 49. Troyann Tannis took 4 for 36 and Jamal Ollivierre 2 for 15, bowling for the School Boys.

Responding, the School Boys innings halted at 123. Rodney Lewis was the highlight with an innings of 55. Maloney took 5 for 20 and Delroy Gregg 2 for 42.

And, De Graduates had a massive 125 run win over Combined Stars Cricket Club.

De Graduates on the back of 90 from Olanzo Billingy and 73 not out from Alan Foyle, reached 281 for 3, off their 20 overs. Roland Stowe took 2 for 28, bowling for Combined Stars, who replied with 156.

Carlos Friday was the topscorer with 42 and Chrisborn Phillips made 34.

Bruce Ollivierre took 5 for 34 and Foyle 2 for 39, to ensure their team’s victory. (RT)
