Principal Naseem Smith-Williams said the students have grown to look forward to the annual event. Smith-Williams said all the athletes were considered winners. As such, there was no declared winner in the main competition.

Each competitor, however, received medals for their involvement, while trophies for outstanding performances are expected to be awarded today, 27 March, 2009, at the school’s general assembly in Kingstown.

Outstanding athletes in the Able bodied category from Kingstown were Jeffery Thomas and Bernadette Louis and in the Not-So-Able bodied category were Akeisha Exeter and Josiah John.

For Georgetown, Melisha Sutherland and Mickron Cupid outshone other athletes to gain the title for outstanding male and female sports stars.

The event, complete with pom-pom shaking and baton-twirling cheerleaders was held at the Victoria Park, Kingstown.(SC)
