CADO Softball Cricket Competition heating up

Five matches were completed last weekend as the Dr. Linton Lewis Calliaqua Area Development Organisation (CADO) 20/20 Softball Competition continued at the Calliaqua Playing Field.{{more}}

Jus Fuh De Fun beat W & J Construction by seven wickets. W & J Construction fielding only seven players was routed for 23. Nicholas Cyrus, grabbed 3 for 9. Jus Fuh De Fun replied with 27 for 3.

Also, Prophecy Strikers defeated S. G De Freitas by six wickets. Prophecy Strikers replying to S. G. De Freitas’ 73 made 74 for 4. Newborn Joseph hit 22 for Prophecy Strikers.

On Sunday, Karoake Groovers had the better of D’ Veterans Two by 47 runs. Groovers amassed 128 all out, with Terrence Patterson making 35. Kevorn Clarke took 3 for 16.

D’ Veterans Two was bowled out for 81, with Clarke contributing 24.

Marco Richards bagged 3 for 19; Monty John 2 for 2, and Kirton Lavia 2 for 4, bowled the Groovers to victory.

Similarly, Police straightened Bamboo Blade by seven wickets. Batting first, Bamboo Blade reached 89 for 8. Robert Crosby hit 17. Demris Daniel 3 for 14, Gerald Gould 2 for 7, and Renford Jack 2 for 9.

The lawmen responded with 93 for 3. Maxian Richardson slammed 42 not out and Saleem George added 26.

Meanwhile, Antics Sports Club beat Dynamic Girls by 37 runs. Antics batted first and made 87 for 7. Cassius Welcome topscored with 26 and Marcus Spencer contributed 17.

Angella Edwards snared 2 for 8 and Jean Blutcher had 2 for 19.

In response, Dynamic Girls scored 45 for 7 at the end of their allotment of 20 overs. Esnay Bowens had figures of 4 for 4, and Cornelius Evans took 2 for 10, bowling for Antics. (RT)
