Samuel was born in St Vincent but moved to England when he was seven years old. He started out in the banking industry but changed to a career in sports and fitness which, according to him, became his passion.

After being involved in semi-professional Football in the UK, Samuel returned to his homeland in 1993 and took up duties as the coach of the National Under 20 Football Team. Samuel’s exploits include taking the National Under- 20 Team to the qualifying round of the Youth World Cup in 1997.

On August 16 last year, one day before he was supposed to travel to the US on football business, Samuel suffered a pressure stroke. “It came with no warning,” Samuel said. “ I was physically fit and in the best of health to my knowledge,” he further stated.

Samuel said that the support he received from the sporting community has been tremendous. However, he said that right now he is in dire need of financial help to pay for his therapy, medication, and basic needs. Samuel is hopeful of a full recovery so that he can return to sports and fitness. An account, #1031184, has been set up at First Caribbean Bank for persons to make donations.

Persons can reach Samuel at telephone number (784) 531 5529 to offer moral support.
