Lawyers, Police face-off to battle for goal bars

The executive of the SVG Bar Association will be up against the Royal SVG Police Force in a Gala Floodlight Football Match at the Victoria Park tomorrow, Saturday, December 20, 2008, at 8:00 p.m. The gates will open at 6:00 p.m, with entertainment from the Royal SVG Police Band and a steel Orchestra.{{more}}

His Excellency the Governor-General Sir Frederick Ballantyne and the Prime Minister will be in attendance, along with the Honourable Judges and other legal personnel. Admission fee will be $5, and there will also be a bar.

Giant Christmas hampers will be donated to the children’s ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, and the residents at the Liberty Lodge Boys’ Training Centre.

The public is encouraged to attend this exciting event which will see the Commissioner of Police Keith Miller and the President of the SVG Bar Association Kay R. A Bacchus-Browne vie for supremacy with the ball. Other female Lawyers will be playing as well.

Only very senior police officers will be playing for the police. Trophies will be presented to the victors.
