Cavaliers, Imperial go under

It was not a good outing for the two Vincy teams last Sunday in the Brooklyn Cricket League in New York, USA, as they suffered defeat at the hands of their opponents.{{more}}

In their first game for this season, Imperial lost to Punjab in a low scoring game at Marine Park C, while Cavaliers went under to Diplomats, of Guyana, at Marine Park A.

Suffering their first loss for the 2008 season was Cavaliers. Winning the toss and batting Cavaliers made 174 runs all out.

Mark Audain, 34 not out, Jacob Emmanuel and Ezekiel ‘Sport’ Williams, 25 runs each, and Alston Bacchus, 18, were the batsmen who made any substantial scores for Cavaliers.

Replying, Diplomats made 177 runs for 7, this after a promising start.

Ted Roberts, 2 for 18, in his two overs. Former St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards fast bowler Caspar Davis had bowling figures of 2 for 40 in his eight overs, Ezekiel Williams 1 for 27 and Dominic Audain 1 for 33.

All three Vincy teams Stars United, Cavaliers and Imperial will be on the field this Saturday and Sunday at Marine Park and Sea View.

They will be trying to rebound following their stutter last weekend.(RT)
