Kedah beat Terengganu 2-1 last Saturday night to take an unassailable lead . Kedah went eleven points ahead of their nearest rival Selangor, with three matches left.

Kedah only needed a draw to secure their second straight lien on the title, but put the issue beyond doubt with a hard fought win .

Reports indicate that Kedah, playing at home to a packed crowd, was put in the lead in the 22nd minute by James, with a low drive from a free kick.

But Terengganu equalised through Mohd Ashaari Shamsuddin in the 50th minute. Huggins was the transgressor in the equaliser as, according to a report, he allowed the striker too much space in the box.

But Huggins made amends four minutes from regulation time when he delivered the winning goal with a header in the 86th minute from a corner kick.

The win gave Kedah their 17th win for the season. And for James he continues to lead the pack in goal scoring with 22 goals.

Kedah won the treble last year, earning the Super League, FA Cup and the Malaysian Cup. With the Super League already in their grasp, the other two are left for the taking.

Kedah last week Tuesday beat Malacca 4-1 in the first leg of the FA Cup quarter finals. James had a brace in that match as Kedah steps closer in their quest to repeat their 2007 unprecedented run.

Both James and Huggins are expected back here in late May to bolster Vincy Heat, as they prepare to take on Canada in World Cup Qualifiers in June .(RT)
