Captain Kendoll Hinds thanked Digicel for the donation and promised to represent the telecommunications company with pride. Hinds said that the cricket academy, which was formed since 1997, has been making positive strides, and he encouraged other youngsters to join his team for practice on Saturdays at the Arnos Vale Complex from 9am – 1pm.

Digicel’s Marketing Manager Juno De Roche said her company was pleased to do their part in strengthening cricket and encouraged more young people to get involved in sports.

De Roche said: “The cricket academy is something that the Governor General has heavily endorsed because cricket not only helps to keep youngsters healthy, but it also keeps their minds positively occupied. We want the youngsters to stay focused because we hope to one day sponsor them on the West Indies Cricket team, of which Digicel is also a proud sponsor.”
