The 5K run, which catered for athletes under the age of 15 began at Argyle and finished at the Biabou Intersection. When the course was completed, it was one and two for the Georgetown Secondary, as Ivando Clarke took the top spot and Antonio Simon was second in the male segment. Trailing them was Josiah Lowie of the West St. George Secondary

Among the females, Alicia Cox, representing the Girls’ High School, was first, followed by Tara Joseph and Lori Jack, both of the Stubbs Primary School, in second and third, respectively.

It was smooth sailing for Kemron Daniel of X-Ceed Sports Club. He copped the male Under-19 segment of the 10K. Second was Raphael Browne of the West St. George Secondary, with Johlann Cato of the Georgetown Secondary, third.

The Under 19’s and senior athletes began their event at the Frontline Bar at Prospect and, like the 5K, ended at the Biabou Intersection.

Nadia Delplesche, also of X-Ceed , captured the female division. She left Anika Hooper of the Petit Bordel Secondary in second position, with Anica Porter third.

In the open male category, Junior Ashton avenged defeat suffered from the feet of Maxroy Forbes in the Cross Country run three weeks earlier to secure the first place. Forbes had to settle for second. Ahed Baptiste of X-Ceed finished third.

In the Open female category, veteran Lisa Daniel of X-Ceed was first, with Kericha Fraser of the Georgetown Secondary, second.

The top finishers in the various categories stashed away cash awards. Last Sunday’s event followed the Cross Country Run held at Diamond October 28, the Canouan series which ran off November 11, and the Round D Town road relay, staged November 18.
