And they’re off… AAA does it again

Following a number of successful road races on the leeward side of the island over the years, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Amateur Athletics Association (Team Athletics) will venture to the windward coast for the 2007 installation of their 5K and 10K series.{{more}}

The races are slated for this Sunday November 25th, and both culminate at the Biabou intersection, with the 5k beginning at Argyle and the 10k at the corner of the Frontline Bar in prospect.

Sunday’s event is once again sponsored by C O Williams Construction Company .

On Monday general Manager of CO Williams Douglas Wilson handed over a check of $5000 to Team Athletics for the event.

Wilson reaffirmed his company’s commitment to the event, and indicated that he is looking forward to seeing a race from the Diamond area to Kingstown, when that parcel of road which is being resurfaced by his company is complete.

Athletes under aged 15 will contest the 5k, with under 19s and seniors taking part in the 10k race.

Winners in each category will receive cash prizes.(JJ)
