The eight member team finished at the bottom of the four team standing.
Competing in the 9-10 category and the 20 and over, the Vincentian swimmers found the going rough with its small team. Coach of the team, Rickydene Alexander, pinned the small size of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines outfit for its eventually placing.
He said that unlike other three participating countries, St. Lucia, Grenada and Antigua and Barbuda, this country was unable to field swimmers in many of the events.
Alexander informed that points were also awarded for just simply participating in the event
The Hungary University of Physical Education certified swim coach said that the teamâs participation was, therefore, restricted to the opening day of competition, Saturday.
Alexander said that despite the absence of proper facilities here, the team performed creditably.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines finished with 71 points. Perennial champions, St. Lucia, once again finished on top, with the host second and Antigua and Barbuda, third. The eight swimmers represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines were drawn from Rickyâs Swim School.
The other Swim Club here is Vincy Sharks. (RT)
