Vinlec North Leeward 20/20 Cricket Tournament opens
The 2007 Vinlec North Leeward 20/20 Cricket Tournament started at the Petit Bordel Playing Field on Sunday 20 May 07. The tournament started off with two competition matches: North Stars defeated Rangers by 7 wickets while President Klick created an upset defeating last yearâs champion Peto Stars by 87 runs.{{more}}
Rangers won the toss and batted first but were dismissed for 105 off 16.2 overs.
Kenny Stapleton 20, Nicholas Alexander 3 for 14 and Doyle Mc Alaster 3 for 17. North Stars in reply made light work of the total reaching 107 for 3 off 14 overs; Elron Lewis 34 and Ronjel Small 55.
In the second game of the day President Klick made 181 all out off 18 overs with William Edwards 81, Orville Franklyn 60 and Dorsen Cottle 3 for 15.
Peto Stars 94 all out off 12 overs, Orland Hooper 27 Leon Mc Alaster 3 for 24; Orville Franklyn 2 for 12; Vivian Caesar 2 for 26.
The competition continues next Saturday, Sunday and Whit Monday.
