CW Prescod outruns field


The athletes from the CW Prescod Primary School stood tall at the Milo Juvenile Athletics Championships held at the Grammar School Playing Field April 28.

At the end of the meet the school out pointed their competitors totally 296 points, to finish ahead of the pack.{{more}}

CW Prescod’s dominance was such that the second place school, the Park Hill Government trailed them by 69 points. Park Hill docked in second with 227.

Third was Layou Combined with 124 points.

C.W Prescod stashed away two of the individual awards as Khalique Williams secured the Boys Under-10 title with 22 points. Also securing an individual award was Aaliyah Providence who copped the Girls Under-12 title.

Kenzique Williams of Park Hill won the Boys Under-6 with 10 points.

The Under-10 Girls’ champion was Denesia James of Marriaqua with 29 points. She was also declared the overall female champion.

Jafa Stephens of Layou copped the Boys Under-12 with 26 points. He was adjudged the overall male champion.

The other two titles went to Keron Arthur of the St. Vincent Grammar School and Safira Mc Kenzie of the Bethel High School. Arthur won the Boys’ Under 14 category with 22 points and Mc Kenzie, the girls’ version of that age group. She tallied 18 points.

Team Athletics SVG stages its next event tomorrow at the Victoria Park, when it will be the turn of athletes 14 years over in the National Championships.

Competition will be in both male and female categories of Under-16, Under-18, Under-20, Over-20 and Veterans.

Tomorrow’s championships begin at 9am.
