Bequia Cricket Association to host 20/20 tournament

On Sunday February 25, 2005, a small group of cricket enthusiasts in Bequia got together to form the Bequia Cricket Association. An executive committee was elected to guide the activities of the organization.{{more}}

The main objective of the Association is to promote the development of cricket in Bequia by encouraging recreational and competitive cricket and by providing coaching in the basic skills of the game to youngsters on the island.

The Association will be formally launched on Tuesday May 1, 2007, with the holding of a six overs a side cricket-o-rama competition on that day and with the announcement of the introduction of the Bequia 20/20 Cricket competition. Play in the 20/20 competition will begin on Sunday May 6, 2007 and run until June 2007. It is expected that up to six teams will participate in the competition. Teams must be registered by Monday April 23rd 2007.

The executive committee of the Bequia Cricket Association is headed by Sylvanus Peters, President and Sylvester Tannis, Vice-President.
