JeBelle, System 3 lead in South Leeward Football League

JeBelle and St. Vincent Motors System 3 are the front runners in the Premier Division Hairoun Beer South Leeward Football League.

JeBelle lead Group B with ten points from their four matches while System 3 are ahead in Group A from their three matches with maximum nine points.{{more}} JeBelle had a chance last Wednesday to extend their dominance but were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly placed Parkside Rollers.

The front runners took the lead through National Under-20 player Quillan Tash who pounced on a loose ball caused by a deviation from the uneven surface of the Campden Park Playing Field.

The match ebbed and flowed with JeBelle with the more seasoned players on their roster holding the upper hand.

A decision by national senior team defender Marion Grant to leave the defence on an overlap run proved disastrous. The speedy and powerfully built Marlo Marshall muscled his way through and slipped the ball past goalkeeper Anthony John in the 77th minute.

Trailing JeBelle are Avenues and Prospect both with six points. In the other group dominated by System 3, Simple Trouble are second with six points and third are Stingers F.C and Buccament who are tied on four points.

In the First Division, Group A sees Urban Ministries Ottley Hall Strikers leading with ten points from four matches. Second are City Strikers with seven points from four matches, with Chelsea and Ridge View Construction tied on six points.

Leading Group B are Powa Lynx with maximum nine points from their three matches. Sharpes United are six points from three matches and JeBelle Over 35 third with six points from their two matches played.

Sixteen teams are contesting the Premier Division; eight in each group with fourteen seeking honours in the First Division.
