Cool masters too hot for competitors in sixes competition

Mr Cool Masters were too good for their opponents in the inaugural Sixes competition of the National Masters cricket competition.

The North Leeward outfit lifted the top prize last weekend at the innovative exercise at the Grammar School Playing Field.{{more}}

After disposing all before them leading up to the final, Mr Cool trounced P’tani Masters by 58 runs in an anti climatic decider. Mr Cool blasted 101 for 1, in their six overs, then restricted P’tani to 43 for 6.

En route to the final, Mr Cool beat Arnos Vale to advance to the quarter finals. At that they took care of Kingstown. Mr Cool made 50 for 3, to which Kingstown replied with 27 for 4.

And at the semi final stage, in an all North Leeward clash, Ajuba had to settle for second fiddle against their counterparts. Ajuba scored 67 for 3 in their six overs, but Mr Cool reached that total for the loss of one wicket.

P’tani on the other hand beat Dasent Cottage in the preliminary round to advance to the quarter final stage, then scored 38 for 3, responding to Central Leeward’s 37 for 4, to set up a semi final meeting with Sion Hill.

P’tani humbled Sion Hill by 31 runs. P’tani made 64 for 4. Sion Hill crawled to 33 for 4 in their allotment of six overs.

After the break for the sixes competition, which was held under the theme” Let’s get cricket crazy”, the regular fixtures resume this weekend.

The sixes competition saw the fifteen teams along with the Neil Williams Youth Cricket Academy participating.
