Carifta prepartions on the go
Preparations for the 36th edition of the Annual Carifta Games are progressing smoothly. So says this countryâs President of Team Athletics St Vincent and the Grenadines, Mr Keith Joseph. Joseph is currently in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, host to the Games scheduled for 7 – 9 April 2007.
According to Joseph, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) is busy completing the works at the National Stadium where the international firm of Mondo has laid a fine track.{{more}}
Joseph, who is the appointed Organizational Delegate for the Meet, noted that earlier this week and for the rest of the week he will be working along with Esther Maynard of Barbados the Technical Delegate for the Games to ensure that all systems are adequately prepared for a successful event.
Cleon Fowler of CFPI Timing was in Providenciales on Monday 5 March to meet with the aforementioned delegates to facilitate the requirements of the Photo Finish system.
Joseph will attend a meeting of the LOC tomorrow where in the presence of the Minister of Sport and other government officials he will detail the state of preparedness organizationally for the 36th Carifta Games.
