Haiti advances to cup finals

Haiti advanced to the final of the 2007 Digicel Caribbean Cup, beating Bermuda 5-0 on aggregate.

The French Caribbean team won the first of the two match play off last Sunday at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad & Tobago 2-0.{{more}}

Eliphene Cadet and Roody Lormera scored in the eighth and 72nd minutes, respectively, for Haiti in the 2:0 victory over Bermuda in the first encounter.The second match took place at the same venue on Tuesday, this time the Hatians upped the score line winning 3-0.

The match series became necessary after the pull out of the Dominican Republic because of financial problems.The three teams ended the second round qualifiers in third position in their respective groups played last November.

Haiti joins Barbados,Martinique and host Trinidad and Tobago in their group to be played at the Haseley Crawford Stadium in Marabella, Port of Spain.The other group comprises Cuba, Guyana, Guadeloupe and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Digicel Caribbean Cup takes place from 12-23 January in Marabella and Port of Spain.
