Digicel coaching for kids programme reaches Tobago

Trinidad & Tobago which hosted the last leg of Digicel’s Kids Coaching Clinic this past week is also the venue for finals for the Digicel Caribbean Cup slated to kick off today at the Hasley Crawford Stadium, Port of Spain.

Although the “Soca Warriors” were preparing for the upcoming matches that did not deter two members of the national squad from participating in the clinic designed to develop football throughout the Caribbean by reaching out to the youths through football.{{more}}

Defender Dwayne Jack aka “Bokes” and Midfielder Kwame Wiltshire aka “Sweet foot” both assisted Coach Terry Williams from Phoenix football academy with the drills and techniques that were shown to the 18 participating youngsters from various schools in Tobago. Four of the 18 participants were girls.

“Youths coming together in an effort to improve their skills is always a success for the development of football,” said Coach Terry Williams.

Dwayne Jack said he felt the presence of the two Soca Warriors was important to help develop the sport while Kwame Wiltshire said he considered it important.

“To do what I can to support the kids and to set an example for parents to participate in their children’s football aspirations makes it important enough to attend,” he said.
