SVGTA continues to aid the development of tennis

In an effort to see the tennis talent in St Vincent and the Grenadines continue to grow and develop, the President of the SVGTA Grant Connell found himself in Mesopotamia passing on a tennis net to the St Joseph’s Convent representative Sister Augustine in late December.

Six nets were already replaced at the National Tennis Centre and in the coming weeks more nets will be erected in Sans Souci, Fitz Hughes, Ottley Hall, Byera and Union Island at the places where the juniors learn the sport.

The SVGTA has enlisted the assistance of the National Sports Council which it said had graciously accepted the task of putting in the infrastructure to erect the nets. “This is part of the renewed thrust in tennis which should take us into the new year with a bang,” Connell said in a news release.
