Sporting personnel gets training from PASO

The National Olympic Committee of St Vincent and the Grenadines continues to ensure ongoing development among its affiliates.

At present there are several individuals who are out of the country benefiting from training courses in different countries, all part of the Olympic Solidarity Programming for the Pan American Sports Organisation (PASO).{{more}}

Alrick Wright of Team Athletics St Vincent and the Grenadines (TASVG) and Joel Poyer, Operations Manager (Acting) of the National Sports Council (NSC), are currently abroad benefiting from education seminars courtesy the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Wright is currently in Havana, Cuba, where he is involved in an advanced level coaching programme specialising in the Throws – Javelin, Shot, Discus and Hammer.

Poyer is in San Jose, Costa Rica, where he is involved in a programme focused on Sport and the Environment. His selection was made by the National Olympic Academy, the educational arm of the NOC. On his return Poyer is expected to join the Academy to work along with Benedict Charles who heads its Sport and the Environment Department.

James Bentick of the SVG Squash Association is currently participating in an advanced coaching programme in San Salvador, El Salvador.
