Marlon James has redeemed his professional football career with his third stint in Malaysia.

James leaves here this weekend for the Asian nation and will join forces with Kedah F.C of which his Vincy Heat teammate Cornelius Huggins is also on the roster.

The 32 year old James who plays in the striker position, had previous stints with Sabah and MK Land, with the latter being his most productive.{{more}}

James has been without a contract since last year when he and MK Land parted company.

His was a bitter sweet departure after securing the Golden Boots award for scoring the most goals in the Premier division, but his club folded failing to make the prestigious Malaysian Cup.

With tighter restrictions on overseas based professionals, both James and Huggins according to the new regulations are eligible to two and three more years respectively playing in that South Asian country’s football set up. Huggins is in his fourth consecutive season with the club.

The regulations give the pros up to age 34, with persons currently representing their countries given first preference. Pros are paid between US $3000 and $5000 per month along with an apartment and a car for the duration of their stint.

If St. Vincent and the Grenadines reaches the finals of the Digicel Cup set for January 31 to February 11 next year in Trinidad and Tobago, the two, like they did in the just concluded second round are expected to play pivotal roles.

But it may be a touch and go situation as Kedah may be reluctant to release them both. The Premier Division of the Malaysia league begins the second week in December.
