Efford pleased with overseas win

Efford Rogers is looking forward to getting contracts to pose at natural body building events, or on any stage where health is promoted.

He returned home last Monday nearly two weeks after a stunning victory in the 2006 Naturalmania Pro-Qualifier natural bodybuilding contest, having taken the Middle Weight category and displaced winners from all other weight classes to become overall champion.{{more}}

That competition was held at the Martin Luther King HS Campus in New York, September 23.

Rogers cuddled two heavy and artistic plaques, symbols of his triumph. He was given red-carpet treatment by executive members of the local Weightlifting and Natural Bodybuilding Association and was greeted by sections of the local media at the VIP lounge at the ET Joshua airport.

Rogers, a member of the local constabulary, attributed his success to “better skin toning” and his readiness for the showdown.

“It’s not all about the size. It’s about the man who is better prepared,” Rogers declared.

For Rogers, it was a tribute to the spirit of perseverance. He recalled having taken part in several competitions before but has never reached the top.

“You have to be patient,” Rogers admitted. He has been in the business for some time and added: “I took some licks”.

His recent accomplishment may indeed be a lesson to budding sportsmen and women.
