Young tennis players to get more exposure

Forty-eight of this country’s young Tennis players have an opportunity to show their talent in a team competition. The Fruta Kool Kidz Junior Tennis tournament opens at the National Tennis Academy September 25 and runs to October 14. {{more}}

Eight teams comprising three males and three females would vie for Boys and Girls Singles, Doubles, and Mixed titles. Lynton Greaves Log Enterprises’ managing director handed over

sponsorship cheque worth $5,500 to Anthony Boyea and Peter Nanton last Tuesday morning at the National Tennis Centre. According to Nanton, the tournament is aimed at getting kids used to team type environment.

“The idea is for the captain to have responsibilities,” Nanton disclosed.

Each team would be outfitted with uniforms, and drinks from the sponsors would be on court during the championship. There would be trophies for the Most outstanding male and female players, as well as medals, and trophies for winners.
