Peto Stars in second North Leeward 2020 win

Peto Stars earned their second victory in the Vinlec North Leeward 2020 Cricket competition with a commanding 83-run win over Winterset.

Peto Stars smashed 204 for 7 off their 20 overs at the Petit Bordel Playing Field last Saturday. Ronjel Small put in an excellent all-round performance hitting 52 and followed up with 3 for 31.{{more}} He was supported with the bat by Tishaun Lavia, 59, and by Orland Hooper, 4 for 12, and Kent Lewis, 3 for 27, when they bowled.

Winterset were bundled out for 121 off 13 overs. Maxwell Edwards, 37, was the only batsman to offer any resistance.

Peto Stars got over Coulls Hill Rangers in the tournament’s curtain raiser.

Rangers suffered their second loss, this time to Future Stars. In a match reduced to 15 overs owing to rain, Future Stars made 132 for 8. Leon McAlister hit 36.

Angus Cyrus, 4 for 35, was the chief wicket-taker for Rangers. They replied with 110 dismissed in 13.4 overs. Peter Morris, 42, was their best batsman in an innings wrecked by Tarquin Roberts, 4 for 11.

Somerset overcame Troumaca United by two wickets. Somerset made 107 for 8 off 16 overs. Hank Hall, 20, had his team’s highest score. Javon Samuel, 3 for 12, had good figures for Troumaca. They were bowled out for 104 off 18 overs. Kyron Alexander, 26, was the main run getter for Troumaca in an innings destroyed by Andreas Neverson, 4 for 24.

The competition continues with Peto Stars and Future Stars in action tomorrow, Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Sunday’s fixtures see Smokey and Chatex at 10 a.m., followed Ajuba against Troumaca United.
